Doc Holliday started off as a dentist … and so did Dr. Jay.

It's hard to imagine that a kid living his wonder years growing up on a farm in New York State's Hudson River Valley, diligently watching the plethora of westerns on television at the time would, like the legendary Doc Holliday. end up a dentist … but he did.

Although there would be no gunfights, gambling binges or narrow escapes from the law, as a dental surgeon and forensic dentist in New Hampshire, it's fair to say that both Docs saw their fair share of dead bodies!

As a kid, if he wasn't doing chores, Jay could be found–often on a stick horse-“ridin' the (imaginary) range” in search of outlaws he could bring to justice.

Eight years of college and dental school, followed by 20 years of continuing education and dental practice experience, may have forced Jay to temporarily set aside his childhood playacting, but the dream still lived on deep inside.

Speaking of playacting, during his stint as a dentist, Jay discovered that he possessed a previously unknown talent as both a motivational speaker and stage actor. Who knew?

An early retirement in 1991 provided Jay with the opportunity to head “out west” for real. (Finally!)

Jay's passion for history, combined with his love of theatre, naturally led him to become a “cowboy” street performer in literally thousands of staged old west gunfight shows throughout the west.

Jay's unique presentation style of combining Education and Entertainment (and along the way, coining the term: “Edutainment”) resulted in tour requests from all over the country and in fact, the world.

This in turn has led to Jay's current focus on producing historically accurate, entertaining and engaging short films about our western heritage.

As you can see, Jay's life has thus come full circle. From that little buckaroo in cowboy garb, dreaming of an Old West Life to the present … still in cowboy duds, living the dream for real.
